UPSC CDS Course Syllabus Details:
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Combined Defense Services (CDS) examination for recruitment of various vacancies under Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and Officers Training Academy. Details of the CDS course are given below.
Paper – 1: English:
The question paper will be prepared to test the candidates’ comprehension of English and the use of the word as a function.
Paper – 2: General Knowledge
General Knowledge Including Knowledge of current events and their daily observations on scientific aspects and general knowledge in relation to experiences that would be expected from an educated person who has not specially studied a scientific subject. The paper will also cover questions on Indian history and geography of nature for which candidates can answer without special study.
Paper -3: Elementary Mathematics
Number system-natural numbers, integers, rational and real numbers. In addition to basic operations, subtraction, multiplication, division, square roots, decimal fractions. Applications of the stand-alone method, time and distance, time and work, percentage, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, variation Primary Number Theory – Section Algorithm. Prime and composite numbers. Test the division by 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, and 11 Multiplication and factors. Factoring theorem. H.C.F. And LCM. Euclidean algorithm, the logarithm to base 10, laws of the logarithm, use of logarithmic tables.
Basic Operations, Simple Components, Remaining Theorem, HCF, LCM The principle of polynomials, the solution of quadratic equations, the relationship between its roots and coefficients (only real roots should be considered). Simultaneous linear equations in two unknown-analytical and graphical solutions. Simultaneous linear inequality in two variables and their solution. Practical problems that can change the disparity between two linear equations or two variables or inequalities at the same time. Set language and show notation, rational expression, and conditional identification, laws of indices.
Sine x, cosine x, tangent x when the values of 0 x ≤90 sin x, x x and tan x, for x = 0, 30, 45, 60 and 90
Simple trigonometric identification.
Use of trigonometric tables.
Simple cases of height and distance.
Lines and angles, figures of plane and plane (vi) aggregation of median and height, (vii) angles, sides and parallelograms, rectangles, and squares (viii) circles and properties of its properties including tangent and general inclusion, (ix) loci.
Area of the square, rectangle, parallelogram, triangle, and circle. These figures (field books), surface area and size of cuboids, lateral surface and right circular cones and cylinders, surface area, and area of the area can be divided.
Statistical data collection and strata, graphical representation, frequency polygon, histogram, bar chart, pie chart, etc. Measures of central tendency
